Have you seen Alhazarad? (Session 72)

SESSION 72: Onward Hobo Soldiers (7MAY18)

After spending the night in the bunker, providing much welcomed concealment from the night stalkers (giant flying manta ray like things). The following morning, we once more entered the desert, in search of the Nameless city. We did not find it.

Rolling across the dunes an oasis was spotted. Closing in on it a small camp was noted under a tree and close to the water. We were tricked by a literally rotten old man named EDO. He was the lure and he did not appear rotten - yet. He had friends they were lying in wait in their actual lair which was underneath the single tent. EDO offered tea and fruit while the rest of the skin changing ghouls waited for the right meant to strike. The food was 'doctored' of course but unfortunately for EDO and company the dosage was off for a horde of iron-gut murderhobos. EDO drop his fresh skin disguise to reveal his true ghoul-form and the rest of the pack puked forth from hiding and we had a good ole Barrowmaze style bru-ha-ha with the damnable dead. After burning the corpses we noted that the temperature had reached its daily peak and it may be best if we rested through midday until it began to cool down a bit. Late afternoon we pressed on refreshed and ready for more weirdness. It came with dusk.

At first we thought it was an optical delusion but it was more of that aforementioned weird. Our paths crossed with a strange fellow, by the name of Black Derrick, driving a spider drawn carriage. The creature was a huge hairless tarantula-like arachnid grossly abscess coloured. That crawled dragging its body along the sands more than walking upon the earth. Black was in search of a wayward associate by the name of Alhazarad. "It would be very favourable if you could, in the event of meeting my friend Al, let me know with urgency". Black then produced a  summoning stone in the event that we did stumble upon his aforementioned associate. "Just whisper my name with this in your possession and I will come"."One last thing, I would be remiss not to mention that my associate can be unpredictable...". With a flick of his wrist the spider continued its crawl across the wasteland.

We then came upon a dry flood channel that had a partially revealed pair of metal doors. Night was approaching at this time so we decided to rest prior to digging the doors open. Much like most of the time on Carcosa the night did not pass quietly. We waged bloody war with a thoul (more loathsome creatures of foul origin) raiding party. It was messy but our hobos persevered. Night wore on bringing day with it…Carcosa would not give up any secrets easily and despised those that attempted to discover them.

Blood for the Blood God of Carcosa (Session 71)

SESSION 71: Blundering for Plunder (16APR18)

Nothing spells exploration like aimless wandering through a wasteland. We might have gotten closer to our target but not by much. Ambushed by those damned yellow cannibals, then by some zombie like bastards as we backtracked the man-eaters. We found the cannibal hive, an ancient and partially flooded bunker. It was a whole lot of nothing until Bimbles did his Moses impression that had us end up face-to-face with the Cannibal’s god – the Cannibal Demon. They ain’t big into originality.  We had some fairly big challenges (Boris lost 6 teeth) and it gating in friends did not help. However, we did eventually get the upper hand and sent them packing back to whatever Hell they came from. We did net some swag, a pile of gems and an interesting ‘future tech’ device - a delicate looking sword-like antiquity. It had a handle that contained a power source with a bar and filament protruding from the hilt. This deserved and required some rest and research, so we back tracked to the previously discovered bunker and prepared for an evenings rest.

The Burning Wastes of Carcosa (Session 70)

SESSION 70: The Wastes of Lost Carcosa (2APR18)

Travelling through the wastes is big F.U.n… Once you get past the scorching nature of the environment you got a host of other problems. Flesh hungry cannibals. Flesh hungry sandworms. Flesh hungry Purple worms. Then, we got in the way of a bunch of flesh hungry scorpions on their way to a pile of mangled purple man corpses. The corpses displayed giant bite marks and puncture wounds. A grim portent? Probably.

With night approaching we camped for the evening, basking under the green glow of Carcosa’s strange moons. Perhaps tomorrow we will find the Nameless City. Now, we will revel in the first mountain of loot that we have seen in a long time. Tomorrow is a fresh hell and we will decide in what direction to punch out towards. The hobos have sleuthed out five possible locations for the aforementioned Nameless City. They are of course spread out amongst the endless wastes so if they really bugger it up resource shortages will become a troubling reality. I'm looking forward to it.

Abominations they come a knocking the longer you frolic.
