SESSION 344: Dungeon Dork Powers Activate
Working their way through the dungeon the first alternate ingress/ egress is discovered, right under everyone’s noses.
Day 862 Continued (Still Under Dry Gulch): Moving from the pit trap chamber there was a few choices in direction. The first of which lead to another section that ended up being Guild of Silence territory. They first came to a chained, barred and inscribed door. Definitely something here but they moved on down the corridor coming upon a batch of guild members chilling in the ‘lunch room’. We were very close to having a situation until Suzie was able to diffuse. The gang asked about the runed door as they retracted from the ‘no-go zone’, “Been like that longer than any of us remember. Better to leave well enough alone”.
Returning to where we started.
By this point the day was wearing on it was time to return to the wizard tower.
They were ambushed en route.
Dirty brigands with red-stained shoe soles – It was the Red-Foot gang!
It was a reasonable ambush from some distance resulting in the front liners getting a bit pin cushiony, BoB in particular. Once she got out of the way Charles and Dolec got to work and steamrolled the twits.
The mooks had some nice stuff on them, a bunch of gems and some obviously looted ancient armor and shield. Gord happily suited up in the former that was wonderfully stamped and embossed leather of Skeldrane origin.
The final leg of the trip was uneventful. Everyone made their way to the tavern for dinner and a couple of pints before retiring early. Tomorrow would be another delve.
Day 863 (Under Dry Gulch): Once more the long walk and climb to the ‘pit trap’ chamber. We really needed a better entrance but the Guild of Silence would not give out a hall pass. The first new room was empty but there was a door and passage. The door was interesting as it had been spiked shut. The passage lead to a low ceiling chamber due to the basement floor of a building. There was a trap door above a pile of garbage. Charles went in to check things out and ended up getting swarmed by rats. More irritating than anything. The trap door seemed to have a significant weight on it preventing opening. The trash pile had a real nice topaz in it, Charles was pretty happy. Backtracking they opened up the sealed door. A long passage and notably ‘fresher’ air. It lead to the Cleft. Chung-Li and Dolec did not feel like creeping about inside the rift and turned the crew around. There was another passage to explore. Hey look! We have just been ambushed by brigands once more. This group was a little larger and seemed to have some higher ranking dudes. Katre was on the ball and knocked out the fodder with a sleep spell. The boss types saw the sky falling and turned tail. They got away but we now had a trio of captives for better or worse.
Time to head back topside to dump the chumps.
