Giant-Sized After Murder Loot-a-Rama Ding Dong (Session 208)

SESSION 208: Looking for Gigantic Loot

Standing before a smoldering heap of ginormous corpses our intrepid band begins clearing out the stragglers. Hopefully we get paid.

Day 127 Still Continues (12.20/ 0305): As the smoke settles and a breath is taken we wonder if a big enough ruckus was made this time. It was, and those that remained either grabbed their valuables and ran or steeled themselves for some mayhem.

A fleshy wall of giant corpses blocked entrance into the great hall. This caused some grumbing but then it was noted that the giants were in festive apparel. Furs and jewelry. The furs were now gross and ruined but there was a lot of giant glitter to be looted. Loading up on what they could see the hobos then began moving back to the entry chamber and the long corridor to the hall.

But first something caught someone’s eye up the corridor the shine of metal. It was a large steel chest that appeared to have been dropped in the corridor adjacent to an unexplored room. It was the ogre’s quarters and some of them must have been present during the shenanigans and made an escape run during the battle. The chest was rather bulky, along with being locked, and appeared not to be worth their lives and so it was abandoned. Aside from gross ogre keepsakes there was a rewarding amount of coin.

Moving back towards the entry. The gang discovered a trio of empty chambers showing signs of quick departures, furniture and such strewn about. After this was the armory, they decided to search just in case there as something not giant-sized. There was. A sack buried in the back of chamber contained five javelins with lightning bolt inscriptions – Nice! We know what those is. Back at the entry the main doors were open, sure sign of escapees. Ignoring this they returned to the great hall for a bit more corpse looting before returning to clearing out the remaining chambers on the east side of the long haus. Immediately coming upon a hastily vacated chamber. The first closed door resulted in an ambush by a very unhappy cave bear in a very fashionable and bedazzled collar. After taking some clubbing from the beast the tanks were able to decommission the beast. Searching of the chamber discovered a gem filled pouch, of giant size, inside the bed mattress. The hobos then decided to pick up the pace moving towards preventing further escapes. They made retraced their previous path through the complex, returning to the larder and the stairwell to the subterranean level.

Descending. Boris noticed that the base construction of the dungeon was both far older and of superior quality to that done by the uncounted residents. “This is good masonry, ain’t no gumble finger job. I tell you what, hmmm. This joint has another story.” The stairwell led to a large and well-trodden chamber dimly lit by a number a smoky torches. Enough light was cast to see three doors and three passageways. The mob went with door number one. Inside, waiting for uninvited guests, was the Keeper (a deformed hill giant) and his two trusty man-eating apes.  They had the jump but our hobos have been showing a distinct reticence in holding back on this never ending 127th day of something or the other. Even with the size advantage the Keeper & Company were facing eleven blood-crazed hobos and they could not hold the advantage after the initial surprise. The Keeper left behind a bunch of junk, a pile of golden coins in his sack and a handful of keenly hidden gems. Payment was accepted.

After grabbing a quick rest the hobos stepped back into the marshalling area. This time intending to explore one of the corridors…
