SESSION 259: Fire from the Sky
Total war on the Gangrenous orcs once more. Saffron relishes her pyromaniacal behaviour.
Continued (13.21 Orcs): Let there be war. Saff, Bunny and Biff were invisible, the latter two awaiting go time on the Nightflyers platform. Saff was buzzing about unseen and stroking her fiery death wand. Nara activated her chameleon powers to sneak up as well. The plan was for her to psionically blast the three orcs on the ledge to allow the rest of the gang to climb up unseen.
As has happened over and over again with the assault on this village thing were not perfect and would descend beyond simple imperfection.
The blast went off only affecting one orc, whom then proceeded to fall 40’ before going splat. The other two responded in distinctly different ways. The first looked down and laughed. The second however, had a few more grains of brains and began shouting alerting an inherently nervous band of orcs to alert. Thus would likely have only attracted a handful of other Nightflyers but something else happened. An official alert, clanging coming from the main gate where we had left alotta blood and bodies. The clan scrambled and we were seconds from war. Giant bats with riders took wing and immediately surveiled the area catching sight of Carla and company. Across town it would not be long until those partying at the arena heard the alarm. Saff was given the greenlight to rain down Hellfire on the arena. Cackling she buzzed off. Moments later the first in a series of conflagrations would light up the village. Charles led the charge towards the rope up to the Nightflyers platform.
The entirety of the clan came charging forth trapping Carla, Dolec and Lester mid-climb up the rope as bodies filled the platform. Charles was surrounded. Biff, Nara and Bunny were forced to reveal themselves and join the fray. Over yonder, Saff launched fireballs with abandon until clouds of arrows began coming her way. She retreated back to the vicinity of the platform. Battle raged as a host closed in on the general area now sending arrows towards those stuck on the rope. Saff rained down hell on them.
Alas, they were only pig-men. Charles cut through the Nightflyers like butter once he opened his gore covered visor. This allowed the rest of the team to finally get to the platform and dispense with the stragglers and the means of climbing up to this position. Saff was murder incarnate and perhaps in need of psychological evaluation. The battle was over. The Nightflyers were no more and however many orcs remained below had tactical withdrawn.
A moments rest was earned.
